# Remaining firearm icons: MP5, UZI, TEC-9

2026-09-07. Built-in imagegen edit mode. Continued the firearm icon refresh after Desert Eagle and suppressed pistol. Colt 45 was explicitly excluded by the user and remains unchanged.

Final active assets:
- `../28.png`: crossed UZI pair, copied from `28.png` here.
- `../29.png`: single MP5 in a gentle rear three-quarter view, copied from `29-clean.png` here.
- `../32.png`: crossed TEC-9 pair, copied from `32.png` here.

Previous active versions are preserved as `28-original.png`, `29-original.png`, `32-original.png`. Only these three active PNGs changed, verified by hashing all 23 numbered icon files before and after installation. Other graphics, including Colt, sawed-off shotguns, rifles and melee icons, are unchanged. No Pawn/AMX/gameplay files changed.

HUD retained existing sizes, ammo controls and paired-weapon rotation. The standalone HTML preview now initially selects MP5. New alpha bounds and outlines are packaged for local file previews.

## Transparency

The generator baked checkerboards. Using the user's earlier authorization for programmatic background removal, `tmp/prepare-hud-cutout.ps1` produced genuine RGBA PNGs with a 16px empty border and these background seeds:
- 28: @(350,625,879,620,131,379,1103,379)
- 29: @(625,674,1030,583,185,214)
- 32: @(592,688,214,179,1038,182)

MP5 had a second small disconnected background region inside its trigger guard, cleared with seed (672,712) to `29-clean.png`. The intermediate `29.png` here is not the installed MP5 source. Weapon shapes/perspective were generated through imagegen, not programmatically distorted.

```text
Use case: precise-object-edit. Update this MP5 game HUD icon to match the new pistol icons. Image 1 is the exact MP5 design to preserve: telescoping twin-rail stock, curved magazine, short barrel with hooded front sight, gray fore-end and pistol grip. Image 2 (Desert Eagle) is ONLY the target camera/palette/drawing style; do not add pistol parts. Show ONE MP5 from a gentle REAR three-quarter view, stock and rear receiver nearer at lower-right and muzzle extending away toward upper-left. Mostly show the side, with a little top and rear for subtle volume; moderate foreshortening, not straight rear view, not extreme perspective. Preserve a complete coherent firearm silhouette and natural compact MP5 proportions; no oversized stock or magazine. Keep the stock rails separately visible with open gaps, one curved magazine, one grip, one clear trigger guard. Same smooth flat/cel-shaded light silver-white and neutral gray game illustration, simple broad highlights/shadows and medium gray outlines. No photorealistic materials, scratches or visual noise. Must read clearly at 96px in HUD. Complete centered weapon on square transparent PNG canvas, around 85% occupancy, balanced margins, no clipped muzzle or stock. Real alpha transparency including openings in trigger guard and stock. NO checkerboard, solid background, text, labels, logo, hands, glow, drop shadow, optic, suppressor, additional weapons or unrelated parts.
Use case: precise-object-edit. Image 1 is the current paired UZI HUD icon to update. Image 2 (Desert Eagle) is ONLY the desired silver-white/gray illustrated style and subtle three-quarter depth reference. Keep exactly TWO compact UZI submachine guns crossed in a clean X, barrels toward upper-left and upper-right, each grip and its straight magazine extending toward the opposite lower corner. Preserve the current overall balanced crossed arrangement and recognizable UZI features: short protruding muzzle, box-shaped receiver, gray ribbed fore-end, top sight and charging knob, gray ribbed grip with one magazine inserted through that grip. Add only gentle rear three-quarter volume, showing mostly broad SIDE surfaces plus a little top and rear thickness, not extreme perspective. Keep both guns separate with one receiver, one fore-end, one trigger guard, one grip and one magazine per gun. The front gun overlaps the rear one only near the middle; parts do not fuse, each gun has a coherent visible shape from barrel to receiver to grip. NO extra magazines, no spare or floating parts, no merged handles, no scopes, stocks or suppressors. Use smooth flat/cel-shaded light silver-white and neutral gray with clean gray outlines and broad simple shading, not photorealistic shiny metal. Match the reference pistol's drawing style, not its actual parts. Readable as TWO guns at 96px. Complete centered X pair on square transparent PNG canvas, 85% occupancy with safe empty margins, nothing cropped. Real alpha background including trigger-guard openings, no checkerboard, solid backdrop, text, branding, frame, hands, glow or drop shadow.
Use case: precise-object-edit. Image 1 is the current paired TEC-9 HUD icon to update. Image 2 (new Desert Eagle) is ONLY the target smooth cel-shaded silver-white/gray drawing style and subtle three-quarter depth, not a source of gun parts. Keep exactly TWO TEC-9 pistols crossed in a balanced X, muzzle tips toward upper-left and upper-right and rear grips toward lower corners. Preserve distinctive cylindrical barrel shrouds with large ROUND dark ventilation holes, short muzzle ends, top charging handles, smooth tube receivers, gray pistol grips and two long straight magazines inserted in front of the trigger guards. Each complete gun has exactly ONE barrel shroud, receiver, grip, trigger guard and magazine; exactly two of each overall. Keep both guns structurally separate and legible: front gun occludes rear gun only across the center, no fused handles, no extra magazines, no floating pieces. Add subtle rear three-quarter volume using mostly SIDE views and a little top surface; keep original crossed silhouette and easy recognition. Refine grip textures into restrained broad details, not dense tiny dots. Natural compact TEC-9 proportions, not oversized magazines. Same clean illustrated light silver-white main parts, neutral-gray grips/shading, medium-gray outlines, simple broad cel shading. No photorealistic metallic rendering, scratches, or visual noise. Complete centered pair on a square true transparent PNG canvas with safe margins and 85% occupancy. Must read as TWO separate guns at 96px. Real alpha background and empty trigger openings, not a painted checkerboard. No text, branding, labels, frames, hands, glow, drop shadow, scopes, stocks or suppressors.
## Verification
`node tmp/test-hud-icon-sizing.cjs` passed all 23 icons at 1366x768, 1920x1080, 390x844 and 320x568; also checked caching, rapid switches, custom uploads, resizing and fallback. All three HUD screenshots visually inspected for complete shapes, transparency and no overlap. Hash verification confirms only 28.png, 29.png and 32.png changed.
